THE DIVINE HELIX
A Working Philosophical Framework for Human Development
An unfolding philosophy.
The Divine Helix is a developing philosophical framework proposing that human development is non-linear, recursive and asynchronous — occurring within the individual, between individuals, and across larger relational and collective systems.
Version 1.0 — September 2026
What is the Divine Helix?
The Divine Helix began with a simple question: what does it mean to love oneself unconditionally?
What began with the Four Pillars of Unconditional Self-Love — Authenticity, Self-Love, Sovereignty and Union — gradually expanded into a developmental architecture.
The architecture became the Dual Helix of Healing. It expanded into relationship through the Relationships Helix. And then the pattern continued to expand into a larger philosophical question about human development itself.
The Divine Helix is the current expression of that expansion.
It is not presented as doctrine, proof or completed theory. It is a working proposition — an unfolding philosophy that remains open to investigation, criticism, contradiction, revision and discovery.
The Helix at Three Levels
MICRO
Dual Helix of Healing
Identity ↔ Capacity
Development within the individual.
MESO
Relationships Helix
Sovereignty ↔ Sovereignty → Relationship
Development between individuals.
MACRO
Divine Helix
Individual ↔ Relational ↔ Collective
Development across larger systems.
These are not sequential stages. They are nested levels of development that operate simultaneously.
Human Development Is Non-Linear, Recursive and Asynchronous
Non-linear
Development does not necessarily proceed through a fixed sequence.
Recursive
We return to familiar terrain, but return does not necessarily mean repetition.
Asynchronous
Different developmental dimensions may change at different rates.
The helix is not a ladder. It is not a ranking system. It is not a straight line. And it is not a circle. It is a way of representing return with difference.
Non-Abandonment
Unconditional self-love is non-abandonment.
Non-abandonment is the condition of remaining in relationship with oneself while development unfolds.
I remain here.
Even when experience changes me.
Even when identity is reorganising.
Even when capacity is stretched.
Even when a relationship changes.
Non-abandonment does not mean tolerating harm, preserving every relationship or refusing to change.
It means that development does not require the abandonment of the self.
Why “Divine”?
The Dual Helix asks how development organises within the individual.
The Relationship Helix asks how development occurs between people.
The Divine Helix asks a different question:
What might human development ultimately be expressing?
Perhaps development is not merely the acquisition of something that was absent.
Perhaps it is the progressive recognition, embodiment and expression of something that was already inherent within us.
The progressive recognition and expression of one’s inherent divinity.
Within the framework, this is offered as a philosophical and spiritual interpretation rather than an established empirical fact.
The Recursive Loop
Recognition → Love → Non-Abandonment → Experience → Reorganisation → Recognition
The underlying proposition does not move.
The human relationship to it moves.
Development is a return to what was never absent.
What it is not
The Divine Helix is not:
a doctrine
an ascension ladder
a spiritual ranking system
a diagnostic framework
a requirement to believe in God
a requirement to believe in reincarnation
a replacement for empirical psychology
an empirically validated theory
a framework for determining another person’s developmental position
It does not ask to be believed.
It asks to be explored.

The Divine Helix is currently an unfolding philosophy. Version 1.0 brings together the developmental, relational and philosophical architecture as it currently stands, while leaving space for future questioning, research, contradiction and discovery.

An unfolding philosophy of human development.
It does not ask to be believed. It asks to be explored.
